  • Ahmedabad: Construction for the phase-2 of the Metro rail project between Motera in Ahmedabad and Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, covering a distance of 28.2-km, is expected to begin in June 2020 and completed by 2024, officials said.   • Alstom will supply ten electric locomotives to Indian Railways in FY 2019-20. Alstom has delivered prototype locomotive in March 2018. Based on the test results, Alstom has redesigned the complete locomotive including bogies. The new design of locomotive has been inspected by RDSO at Madhepura factory and cleared for dispatch from factory.   • An ECoR (East Coast Railways) official said, the Railways is targetting to complete the electrification of the 56-km long Lanjigarh Road-Junagarh and 90-km long Naupada-Gunupur lines in Odisha by the end of 2019.
