- A total of 25,19,252 passengers have travelled in the Metro Trains from 01.01.2022 to 31.01.2022.
- A total of 31,86,653 passengers have travelled in the Metro Trains from 01.02.2022 to 28.02.2022.
- On 28.02.2022 a maximum of 1,43,252 passengers have used the Metro Trains to commute.
Ticketing:
- In the month of February, 2022 a total of 79,179 passengers have utilised the QR Code ticketing system, while 18,48,222 passengers have used Travel Card Ticketing System.
- CMRL offers a 20% discount on QR Code ticketing (Single, Return, Group Tickets and Q.R Trip passes ) from 11.09.2020.
- Additionally 20% discount fares are available on Metro Train Travel Cards from 22.02.2021.

About CMRL:
- The Government of Tamil Nadu created a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for implementing the Chennai Metro Rail Project.
- This SPV named as “Chennai Metro Rail Limited” was incorporated on 03.12.2007 under the Companies Act.
- It has now been converted into a Joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu with equal equity holding.
