Delhi Metro update: Tenders invited for Pre-Engineered Steel Structure and Roofing works for expansion of Shastri Park & Najafgarh Depot

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Ltd. has invited open e-tenders for the work, “Design Fabrication, Supply and Erection of Pre-Engineered Steel Structure and Roofing for expansion of Shastri Park & Najafgarh Depot Workshop/other buildings of Delhi MRTS project of Phase-III”.

Tender Details:

  • The design and performance of the Permanent Works shall comply with the specific core requirements contained in these Employer’s Requirements -Functional.
  • The design of the Permanent Works shall be developed in accordance with these Employer’s Requirements – Functional, the Contractor’s Technical Proposals and the other requirements of the Contract.
  • The Permanent Works shall be designed and constructed to the highest standards available using proven up-to-date good Engineering practices. The Specification shall in any case not specify standards which, in the Engineer’s opinion, are less than or inferior to those described in the Design Basis Report (Design Criteria) and Technical/Construction Specifications contained in the Tender Documents. Construction shall be carried out employing the procedures established by the Contractor in his Quality, Safety Health and Environmental management plans.
  • The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all necessary approvals from the relevant Public/Government/Local/Statutory or any agencies in the design and construction of the works.

Scope of Work:

The scope of work shall, inter–alia, includes the following but not limited to:

  • Site clearance and dismantling of obstructions etc., before commencement of work as specified or as directed.
  • True and proper setting out and layout of the works, bench marks and provisions of all necessary labour, instruments and appliances in connection therewith as specified or as directed.
  • Provision of open foundation/raft slab/pile foundation/slab for different structures i.e. workshop/inspection/Bays shed, Stabling shed, Internal Cleaning Shed & Building, Workshop, Offices, Canteen, Depot control Centre, civil works in stabling area etc. upto the minimum foundation depths in accordance with the actual soil parameters as obtained from detailed subsurface exploration as specified or directed. Any additional investigations required for contractors arrangements will have to be done at the contractor’s cost.
  • Suggested method is indicated in the drawings; however the methodology is required to be submitted by the tenderer and approved by DMRC before carrying out the works in this stretch.
  • Adequate arrangements will have to be done by the contractor to stabilize the edge of excavated earth for raft/open foundation.
  • All disposable excavated material shall be collected and transported for disposal in specified areas or at any other land fill sites approved by relevant authorities.
  • Provision of column, floor beams and slabs, lintels, chajjas, staircases, coping, fascia’s drops, mullions, cornices, overhead & retaining structures etc. as specified or as directed by Engineer.
  • Staircase in steel/concrete as per details shown in tender drawings and as directed by the Engineer.
  • Plinth protection work.
  • Clearing of site and handing over of all the works, as specified or as directed.
  • All aspects of quality assurance, including testing of materials and other components of the work, as specified or as directed.
  • Maintenance of the completed work during the period as specified.
  • Submission of completion (i.e. ‘as-built’) drawing and other related documents as specified or as directed.
  • Identification of utilities and diversions of the utilities coming in the foundation area wherever required including protection during construction is included in the scope of works and shall be paid separately under relevant BOQ items. This shall be done with proper liaisoning with the authorities controlling the utilities. The shifting of electric cables and P&T cables are not included in the scope of this work.
  • Dismantling of part of existing stabling line shed in Shastri Park & Nazafgarh depot, alteration of dismantled members to suit the proposed design and erection of modified members. The dismantle scheme shed be such that parts to be retained remain functional during and after dismantling. Alteration to members as required for rarer reuse in proposed structure

The following requirements are to be followed by the Contractor:

  • All aspects of quality assurance, including procurement & testing of materials and other.
  • components of the work, as specified or as directed.
  • Clearing of the site and handling over of all the works, as directed.
  • Maintenance of the completed work during the maintenance period.
  • Submission of completion (i.e. as-built) drawings and other related documents and specified.
  • Any other requirement to commission the Depot & workshop at Shastri park & Najafgarh Depot for MRTS Project in all respects in accordance with the provisions of the contract and/or to ensure the structure stability and safety during and after construction.
