NCRTC upholds high cleanliness standards for Namo Bharat trains and stations

NCRTC remains committed to ensuring the punctuality and cleanliness of Namo Bharat trains, alongside maintaining pristine conditions at all stations. Daily, meticulous efforts are made to keep the trains and stations clean before they commence operations.

More Details:

Maintenance and cleaning of Namo Bharat trains are managed at the RRTS Depot in Duhai. Every night, from 10 PM to 6 AM, the trains undergo a thorough interior cleaning regimen using both state-of-the-art mechanised equipment and manual labour. Exterior cleaning occurs every third day at the Automatic Train Washing Plant within the same depot, employing brushes, water, and soap to maintain the train’s outer cleanliness. Additionally, a monthly deep-clean includes a comprehensive inspection and detailed cleansing of both internal and external surfaces.

Scheduled Cleaning:

  • The external cleaning of Namo Bharat trains is scheduled every third day at the Automatic Train Washing Plant located within the RRTS Depot in Duhai.
  • This process involves utilising brushes, water, and soap to cleanse the outer surfaces of the train. Additionally, a comprehensive deep-cleaning session occurs monthly, where the train is brought to the Internal Cleaning Shed (ICS).
  • During this period, the train undergoes meticulous inspection, addressing any technical or other issues that may arise. Furthermore, both internal and external surfaces are thoroughly washed and polished, ensuring the train maintains its pristine condition.

Committed to Provide Clean and Safe Public Transportation:

  • NCRTC is committed to providing passengers of the Namo Bharat train with not only fast and convenient but also clean and safe public transportation services. Presently, 12-15 housekeeping workers are stationed for cleaning duties at Namo Bharat RRTS stations.
  • Cleaning operations commence nightly immediately following the conclusion of train services and persist throughout the night.
  • As part of this initiative, the entire platform and concourse levels are thoroughly cleaned using mechanised equipment, with floors also being mopped.
  • This cleaning sequence is repeated multiple times each day, ensuring a consistently hygienic environment for commuters.

  • Moreover, throughout daytime train operations, sweepers maintain regular cleaning of platforms, concourse levels, and the exterior areas surrounding the station.
  • Cleaning extends to lifts, grills, and other surfaces, with the assistance of mechanised equipment for tasks like mopping. The bulk of cleaning tasks is efficiently handled by modern machines.
  • Should the need for cleaning arise during train operations, immediate action is taken to address it promptly. This proactive approach ensures that cleanliness standards are upheld consistently, enhancing the overall passenger experience.

Background:

Namo Bharat train operations started in October last year. Now, passenger operations are continuing on the 34 km extended section from Sahibabad to Modinagar North. Currently, this service is available to passengers every 15 minutes. The target is to complete the entire 82 km long RRTS corridor from Delhi to Meerut by June 2025.

Conclusion:

NCRTC’s diligent monitoring of cleanliness not only enhances passenger experience but also contributes to the public’s high regard for Namo Bharat service. This commitment is evident in the positive feedback received across various digital platforms, affirming NCRTC’s success in providing superior public transportation services.
