N.C. Railway’s Iradatganj station connected with DFC line with new electronic interlocking system

North Central Railway’s Iradatganj station connected with DFC line, Goods trains coming from the direction of Manikpur will be able to go directly to DFCCIL line, LC No. 429 has also been eliminated.

  • North Central Railway has always been ready to provide time bound and safe train travel to the passengers. With the expansion of infrastructure for capacity enhancement, working o­n the basic mantra of safety as a priority, new technologies are being adopted continuously.
  • In this sequence, the work of commissioning of new electronic interlocking at various stations is also being done continuously. Commissioning of electronic interlocking ensures ease of operation o­n the o­ne hand and enhanced safety o­n the other.
  • Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway has always been a capacity constraint ridden division. In order to improve and streamline its operations, goods trains are being progressively shifted to the newly constructed sections of Eastern DFC.
  • For this, the work of connecting the newly constructed sections with the routes of Indian Railways is being done o­n priority. A new electronic interlocking M/s Hitachi Rail STS make has been commissioned in place of existingWestres VLM-6 at Iradatganj Station o­n Howrah-Mumbai route.
  • With this, provision has been made for junction arrangement at Iradatganj station. This has resulted in a single line connection between Iradatganj station and New Karchana (DFCCIL station) towards the link junction o­n the up side for efficient handling of traffic between DFCCIL and Indian Railways.
  • After this, the system of absolute block working was established between Iradatganj to New Karchana Junction. Block Proving by Axle Counter using UFSBI system is provided in the DFC single line section of Iradatganj- New Karchana (DFCCIL station).
  • Apart from this, a new data logger has also been installed to strengthen the safety in operation. Subsequently, the A & D sidings have been removed and level crossing 429 near the glass factory has also been eliminated.
