S.C. Railway’s GM, Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviews the progress of increasing train speed over the zone

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway conducted a review meeting o­n safety and performance of the zone along with Principal heads of the departments at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.

  • Divisional Railway Managers of all six divisions Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded participated in the meeting through video conference.
  • Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviewed the work in progress for increasing speed to 130 Kmph o­n Golden Quadrilateral and Golden Diagonal routes. He also reviewed the progress of raising sectional speed to 110 Kmph o­n the identified sections across the zone.
  • In this regard, he advised the officials to further speed up the works to meet the targets set for the current financial year (2022-23). Further, he also reviewed the prevailing speed restrictions over the zone and advised the officials to remove them with necessary works to the possible extent wherever feasible, so as to further speed up the movement of trains.
  • The General Manager also reviewed the status of mega safety drives undertaken across all six divisions of the zone. He advised the officials to further strengthen the drives and maintain highest standards of safety to ensure smooth running of train operations across the zone.

  • He instructed the officials to further enhance the supervision by conducting frequent field inspections to ensure compliance of worksite safety requirements without fail. He stated that if any deficiency is found during the inspection, the same should be reported and corrective action should be taken immediately without any delay.
  • Further, the General Manager reviewed the status of regular training being imparted to safety staff including loco pilots and assistant loco pilots.
  • He stressed o­n implementing special counselling and mediation sessions for Loco Pilots to reduce stress levels and ensure complete focus while operating the train. The meditation session will relieve stress and help in strengthening the safe running of trains.
